Welcome

My first post.
Although, this is for fun and to put my input out there on baby & mother items, it seems like the pressure is on. Being a mother of 2 so far apart in age really gives me a chance to see how far the mother and child world has come along. I remember when my first son, who is now 5, was born I would stand in the aisle's of Babies "R" Us clueless as to what I would need to keep my little one safe, secured & happy. With my second son, who is 5 months, I knew what to get but was taken back by all the new stuff they added. They have a kettle to warm up your water for formula, they have a hook that holds all of your stuff securely to your stroller, they even have a lock for your stroller!!! All of this makes life a lot simpler but I knew what I would be needing personally as a mother.

Being pregnant for a second time I knew that I just wanted a pair or 2 of maternity bottoms. With my first son I was lucky enough to still fit into my everyday shirts (big belly & all). I did however find a "belly band" that I did not use with my first. This thing was a money & life saver. It's a piece of stretchy white fabric that you put over your jeans to make them fit better. It's typically used for your everyday jeans. You can wear them without having to button them up (we all know our jeans get to a point where they are almost breaking at the seems) & you put the belly band over it to a) secure your jeans from falling, b) hide the front of your jeans & c) save you from having to buy tons of maternity clothes. I found my band for about $16 in 2012. I even used the band during my first few post partum weeks. It felt good to not have to button up my pants right away.

I found this photo on Target's website.
